For those who are curious and looking for alternatives, Nodo Tequilana Reposado distillate is a style of classic matured tequila in every sense, only the geographically regulating law does not allow it to be called tequila. A unique distillate reminiscent of tequila made before modern, industrial farming and production methods. Produced in the Tecuani Canyon in the state of Zacatecas, just 5 minutes from the edge of the state of Jalisco. The Bañuela family has been producing Tequilana since the 1970s, long before appellation of origin for tequila was defined or regulated.
The production takes place according to the old traditions of local artisans: agave ripened for 7 years in 24 hours. boiled in stainless steel autoclaves and crushed by mechanical rollers. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with wild yeast. Distilled twice in a hybrid steel and copper still. The rich minerality characteristic of the Zacatecas region is released through the use of deep well water. Later, it matured for 4 months in single-use American oak barrels.
