One of the most famous and best tequilas ever made, distilled by the fifth generation of the family, carrying on the tradition for over 140 years!
This unique and distinctive matured Fortaleza tequila is made from 100% blue agaves, which are grown in the Sauza plantation in the city of Tequila and processed only by old traditional methods. Ripe agaves are steamed in a small brick oven. A 2 ton stone wheel -tahona is then used to slowly squeeze the juice from the agave. After adding water from the volcanic mountain of Tequila and separating the fibers, it undergoes natural fermentation in wooden tubs for 3-5 days. The exceptional tequila is obtained by double distillation in two very small copper stills. Aged for 7 months in used American oak barrels.
Aromas: citrus fruits, caramel, butter, cooked agave, wildflowers, vanilla, wood, pepper, sage.
Palate: Balanced, sweet and very unique with bright agave, citrus, vanilla, light oak, apples and hints of flowers, butter, earth, caramel, mild pepper and cinnamon.
Aftertaste: long and rich, subtly spicy and oily in texture, so very pleasant.
This is probably the best aged tequila on the planet. Ideal for both beginners and experienced tequila drinkers. Fantastic!
