A small-batch, premium tequila from the highly regarded Camarena family distillery. Agaves are grown in the highlands of the Jalisco region - Los Altos , on the fields of the 'Tierras Negras' ranch, which are dominated by clay soil. Production is based on a slow and traditional process. Agaves that have matured for 7-10 years, with an average weight of about 18 kg, are slowly baked in brick ovens for 48 hours and then cooled in them for another 24 hours. The baked agaves are crushed with a mechanical mill to separate the juice from the fibers, which is mixed with spring water. Fermentation without fibers with wild yeast in pine vats lasts about 100 hours. Distilled twice in copper vessels slowly, at low temperatures, thus preserving the special agave sensation and rich, silky taste. The tequila is aged for 8 weeks and 8 days in 200-liter oak barrels, first used for American whiskey and later for several batches of tequila, so the wood effect is not as pronounced and allows the agave profile to dominate.

Aromas: very fragrant and bright agave, vanilla, citrus fruits, butter, caramel, cinnamon, subtle hints of earth, wood and pepper.
Taste: sweet agave balances spices, pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, caramel; citrus, wood, black pepper and soft herbal motifs are noticeable.
Aftertaste: long and harmonious, warm and creamy sensation.

This tequila was created by maestro tequiler Carlos Camarena, one of the most respected tequila producers. Ocho is the first tequila to indicate the year of production and the exact field where the agave was grown. Each batch of tequila takes on different characteristics, as the agave comes from different fields. The agave used for this tequila was harvested from the Tierras Negras ranch.
