Unique, passionate and creative, Mezcal with Damiana is an innovative, herbal distillate that combines the sustainable 'Espadin' variety of agave from the central valleys of Oaxaca, and ' Turnera diffusa', known as Damiana, an elixir of aromatic flowering shrub leaves that resemble the scent of chamomile and the fruit with the taste of figs. Damiana leaves are popular throughout Mexico and much of Central America as a special aphrodisiac - a way to maintain sexual health in both men and women and for their ability to raise physical tone with a relaxing effect that helps with mild depression, reduces stress and improves mood.

The production uses old traditional methods: the agaves are slowly roasted in wood-fired earthen pits and ground in a horse-drawn stone tahona. Natural fermentation takes place in oak vats. The first distillation is carried out in small copper vessels and left to rest in oak barrels for 3-6 months. During the second distillation, using a patented steel and copper alloy still, the Damiana herb is introduced into the agave spirit vapors, which pass through a botanical basket, separating the Damiana essential oils. This process highlights herbal and chamomile notes, balanced with the roasted agave profile, creating a unique harmony of the biosphere and natural elements.

The mezcal profile is bright, earthy with subtle, enchanting herbal notes. Slightly smoky, with a flow of bitter herbs, medicinal herbs and spicy notes: vanilla, lavender, melon and sweet flowers with vegetal reflections of oak and red pepper.

The brand name comes from a mythical legend that lightning struck the heart of the agave - a gem - and by roasting and fermenting its sugars, created the sacred and mystical sap - mescal. The creators of this unique drink - artist-alchemist duo AdrinAdrina and Elliott Coon - drew inspiration from their childhood, growing up in an artist enclave in the mountains of Virginia, where they learned the value of plant knowledge and the uplifting power of conscious celebration. 'Gem&Bolt' is like a living exhibition of their knowledge and work, guided by the mantra "create art, share plant knowledge, celebrate, repeat".
