Clase Azul is one of the most artistic tequila producers, showing great respect for the Mexican cultural heritage. Although it is one of the most expensive tequilas on the market, that's because they make more than just tequila, they also make art that reflects the hearts and souls of the people of the Jalisco region.
This tequila symbolizes the journey of the 'Clase Azul' family over the past 25 years, creating distinctive symbols of Mexican tradition and culture. The cobalt blue ceramic bottle-decanter is a unique handmade icon. Only 9125 bottles of this limited edition tequila are produced!
This special edition pays homage to the signature 'Clase Azul Reposado' tequila by tweaking the production process to create a special experience. For production, blue agaves are grown for 6-8 years in one of the highest points of the state of Jalisco, whose unique climate and soil give tequila an exceptional taste. Agave cores are baked for 72 hours in traditional brick ovens, then some of the agaves are ground with a traditional stone roller - tahona. The fermentation process has been extended to bring out the citrus and fruit notes. The tequila is distilled twice in copper stills and matured for 8 months in two different American whiskey barrels, each of which imparted its own distinctive and rich flavor notes.
Color: brilliant amber.
Aromas: agave syrup, banana, woody notes, toasted coconut, soft vanilla, some caramel, chocolate, apple and malt grain.
Taste: Caramel, vanilla, almond, agave syrup, cocoa and banana notes, tones of burnt wood, some earthy mineral character.
